Grade B7 Threaded Rod – ASTM A193
ASTM A193 grade B7 threaded rod is made from quenched and tempered chromium-molybdenum alloy steel. It provides fastening material for flanges, equipment and industrial assemblies, with ASTM A194 grade 2H nuts where required by the assembly specification.

Grade B7 threaded rod has continuous threading and may be supplied in lengths for cutting. It can be used to prepare studs that pass through a joint and are secured with nuts at both ends.
Technical features
ASTM A193 B7 is quenched and tempered alloy steel. Up to 2½-inch diameter, minimum tensile and yield strengths are 125 and 105 ksi; above 2½ through 4 inches, they are 115 and 95 ksi. Threads follow ASME B1.1. These test values are not allowable stresses at operating temperature.
Applications and assembly
Used in flanges, valves and process equipment requiring mechanical strength at elevated service temperatures. ASTM A194 grade 2H nuts are a common pairing, subject to class and service requirements. Cut ends should be deburred so nuts can be installed without damaging the threads.
