Socket Head Cap Screw – ASTM A574
The ASTM A574 socket head cap screw combines a cylindrical head with an Allen drive for high-strength machinery fastening. It is used in moulds, dies and equipment where side access for a wrench is limited.

A socket head cap screw is driven from above with an internal hexagon key. The head can sit in a counterbore, reducing the lateral space needed for assembly.
Technical features
Heat-treated alloy steel to ASTM A574. Inch-series dimensions follow ASME B18.3. The catalogue lists black oxide finish. Metric versions are specified separately.
Applications and assembly
Used in moulds, dies, tooling and machinery assemblies. It works in a tapped hole or with a nut; thread engagement depth must suit the material and joint design.
