Metric Hex Nut – Classes 5, 8 and 10
A metric hex nut joins metric-threaded bolts and rods in machinery and auxiliary structures. Diameter, pitch and property class are selected so the nut can develop the intended strength of its mating threaded fastener.

A metric hex nut is driven with an open-end wrench, ring spanner or socket. It provides a removable connection for equipment, supports and mechanical components.
Technical features
Available classes: 5, 8 and 10. ISO 898-2 defines properties and proof load; ISO 4032 is a dimensional reference for regular nuts. Nut class must be compatible with bolt class: 8 and 8.8, for example, are different designations for complementary components. Diameter and pitch must also match.
Applications and assembly
Maintenance work requires distinguishing coarse threads from fine-pitch series and checking the marked property class. Nut and bolt combinations are selected for joint capacity, rather than solely because the threads engage.
