Flat Head Socket Cap Screw – ASTM F835
The ASTM F835 countersunk Allen screw sits flush with the surface and is driven with an internal hexagon key. It is used in covers, hinges and machinery parts where a projecting head would interfere.

A countersunk Allen screw combines a conical head with an internal hex drive. It fits a matching countersink to provide a continuous outer surface on moving parts, covers and mechanisms.
Technical features
For inch-series products, ASTM F835 specifies properties and ASME B18.3 dimensions. The catalogue product uses a black oxide finish. Nominal length includes the head.
Applications and assembly
The seating angle must match the screw head. Countersunk head geometry affects capacity, so it should not automatically be assigned the strength of a cylindrical socket head screw of the same diameter.
