Threaded Rod Stainless Steel B8 – ASTM A193
ASTM A193 grade B8 threaded rod is made from type 304 austenitic stainless steel. It provides fastening material for flanges, equipment and industrial assemblies, with ASTM A194 grade 8 nuts where required by the assembly specification.

Grade B8 threaded rod has continuous threading and may be supplied in lengths for cutting. It can be used to prepare studs that pass through a joint and are secured with nuts at both ends.
Technical features
ASTM A193 B8 identifies 304 stainless steel. Class 1 has minimum tensile and yield strengths of 75 and 30 ksi. Class 2 adds strain hardening: up to ¾-inch diameter, the minima are 125 and 100 ksi. Properties vary with diameter. Inch threads follow ASME B1.1.
Applications and assembly
Used in process equipment and connections exposed to moisture or corrosive media compatible with 304 stainless steel. ASTM A194 grade 8 nuts are a common pairing, subject to class and service requirements. Cut ends should be deburred so nuts can be installed without damaging the threads.
