Nylon Insert Lock Nut (Stop Nut)
The nylon insert lock nut contains a nylon insert that resists rotation and helps prevent vibration-related loosening. It is used in machinery and mill liner bolt assemblies specifying this locking system.

The stop nut’s insert engages the bolt thread and develops prevailing torque. This resistance helps prevent unintended nut rotation during service.
Technical features
Steel body and finish are selected for the assembly. ISO 2320 defines functional requirements for steel prevailing-torque nuts. ISO 10511 and ISO 10512 cover metric configurations with nylon inserts.
Applications and assembly
Used in equipment exposed to vibration. The thread must pass through the insert; allowable temperature depends on the insert material.
